The Story

Cultural History

Founded by José Pascual and Lenny Krarup in 1998, the DJ Awards has stood as the world's longest-running independent dance music awards. From 19 years at Pacha and a year at Hï, through a pandemic pause, the brand rebooted at Chinois in 2024, reset at ROTO in 2025, and relaunches for its landmark 25th edition at Amnesia in 2026.

In 2024 the DJ Awards was acquired by Scottish tech entrepreneur Andy Grant, CEO of TechAdVenture — a London-based tech investment firm with an engineering team in Berlin and an investor base in New York that builds technology for music, events and healthcare. Andy saw the massive potential to internationalise the brand and add unique experiences for fans, while giving something back to a scene that has given him so many happy memories.

Our winners are honoured in person — global icons including Solomun, Fisher, Peggy Gou, David Guetta, Black Coffee, Carl Cox, Avicii, Armin van Buuren and Tiësto have all collected their award on the night.

A Night Like Ibiza
Has Never Seen

2026 marks the relaunch of the DJ Awards. As we build the foundations for the next twenty-five years, we're marking the moment the best way Ibiza knows how — with the most epic party ever.

For one night we take over the legendary Amnesia Terrace — as the club itself turns fifty — and transform it into a gala hall: fifty-three tables of ten, white linen, full silver service, and a Golden Globes-style awards show at its heart. A four-course gourmet dinner, an open bar all night, and Amnesia experienced like never before.

It begins on the red carpet: a Met Gala-style arrival with paparazzi and photo calls, flowing into a champagne reception where the jet-set mix with the DJ inner circle, club owners, promoters, label executives, investors, sponsors and VIPs.

As dinner is served, the history of dance music unfolds across three acts of immersive theatre and cinematic production, building to the awards ceremony itself — broadcast live to millions on YouTube.

Then, at midnight, the doors open. The tables are cleared, three thousand clubbers pour in, and the Terrace comes alive for one of the biggest nights of the season — DJs from across genres and generations going back-to-back until sunrise.
